Der Kern der Floaters scheint der selbe zu sein wie der der Abec11 Freireiter, oder? Spekulationen!

Aufmerksam wurde ich darauf durch einen Post von Heiko/CW im FB, werden also sicherlich bald in Köln eintreffen.

Halt neue Freerider von Earthwing. Naja, vom shape her ja auf jeden fall mal vielversprechend. Sind definitiv eine Überlegung wert. Wer kennt das Urethan und möchte dazu ein Wort verlieren?
Wo sich die WIldchild eingliedern sollen versteh ich nicht so recht. Wofür sind die gemacht? Zum streetskaten viel zu weich und fürs Longboard zu unkomfortabel klein. Von retro gibt es ja Berz, die wenigstens noch 60mm Durchmesser haben und ein sinniges shape. Kann mir das bitte einer erläutern?

Sind in 10 tagen da. Die Wildchild sind klassiche Filmer wheels. Also wheels für normale skateboards die aber weich sein sollen. Mehr Komfort ohne große Riser unter die Achsen zu schrauben was bei +60mm auf jeden Fall von Nöten ist bei einer low Thunder oder Venture Achse etc....

Interessiere mich besonders für die 77mm 84a Version.

Hab in einem englischen Online Shop eine Review dazu gefunden,
der Mensch war echt begeistert von den Rollen.

Falls die jemand die auch lesen möchte hab ich die mal hier mit rein gepostet.

We all love sliding, you, me, the bloke down the park with slide gloves made from kitchen tiles and that skateboarding bulldog on Youtube; but no-one likes it when they’re brand new wheels get destroyed in an afternoon. I am no exception.

In the spring of 2010 I took the afternoon of work to try out my brand new set of Orangutan Stimulus (86a) Two hours of the hill in Greenwich Park and they were coned like four yellow funnels. This made me sad for they were not cheap.

In July I bolted a perfect set of shiny Yellow Cult Classics to my Voodoo Doll and bombed down Bo Peep drifting the fast left at the bottom. I did this four times in total before somebody pointed out that my heal side front Cult resembled an egg. Not coned this time but ovaled so badly that riding became uncomfortable at speed. Each wheel a different size and shape.

As I surfed various skate forums in search of a free-ride wheel that would last longer than the time it takes to boil an egg one name kept appearing, Earthwing. As it happened Earthwing had just released a new Free-ride wheel, The Floater. I decided that I need a set.

Of the three colour and duro choices, Red 78a, Blue 81a and Black 84a I reasoned that the later should slide the furthest and last the longest. I paid the man and fitted my trusty and freshly lubed Builtins. I had a hot date on Lovers Lane.

Ten minutes or so of hard carving later, the better to wear some mold gloss before sliding, I attacked the hill and slid.

Despite the large centre core and hard duro the wheels still ride smoothly and comfortably which surprised me. They seem fast. The urethane grips more than Cult Classics. The hook-up is a bit sudden, probably needed longer breaking in time, but once they release they slide nicely and far. They handle more like the Stimulus in this respect.

But unlike the Orangutan Stimulus and Cult Classic a few hours of hard sliding did not cone, oval or destroy the Earthwing Floaters other than a little inner rubbing wear. This made me happy for they look the business.

The black thane is so dense that it resembles PVC, it’s almost pornographic.
This illusion of fetishism was so acute that after a particularly aggressive Colman slide I could have sworn that I could smell burning rubber.

Ich hab die Floaters zwar seit nem Jahr hier bin die aber noch nie gefahren :/

Hab die ja schon ganz vergessen... kann Sie mal drunterschnallen wenn hier der Winter wieder vorbei ist.

Ich hab die Floaters in 77m und 81a. Ist eigentlich ne geile Rolle: Schnell grippig und doch ganz gut slidebar. Mein Set leidet jedoch unter dem Zombie-Syndrom: Der Lagersitz hat etwas Spiel, was beim Einlenken zu unschönen Klacker-Geräuschen führt. Nicht tragisch, aber doof.

Mittlerweile gibt's die Floaters ja auch mit angerauter Fläche.
Ist das der einzige Unterschied oder gibt's da mehrere zu den Floaters im Anfangspost?
Günstig sind die ja, wären vl. ne Überlegung wert.
